Following the première of our first program on March 29, 1992, "Change", St. Petersburg’s most widely read newspaper at the time, published a long article by ballet critic Olga Rozanova called "Brilliant Dancing on the Edge of an Abyss". From that time on we have genuinely been on the edge of an abyss, with no help from anyone else. But each year we work to put on a new program or production. And we have our own audience which warmly welcomes our work.

We are far from thinking that someone is reading these lines who has the ability and desire to invest in those arts not receiving state support. And such is the case with modern dance. Yet if such a person or organization exists and wishes to help us, this assistance will be both directly relevant and broader in effect, contributing to the development of modern dance in St. Petersburg.
