SKDC - is the first professional modern dance company in Russia and one of two modern dance troupes in St. Petersburg. The company's works do not employ blatantly dramatic devices, but are always filled with emotion. Usually the company performs without sets, text, or visual effects. The main objective of the company's activity is always to be creating, developing and changing its own dance language. In its ten years of existence, SKDC has performed more than 100 times in St. Petersburg and beyond. The company has taken part in contemporary dance festivals in Moscow ('93 and '99), Vitebsk ('92 and '93), ADF (U.S., '96), Gdynia ('96 and '97), Bytom ('97), Tallinn ('96 and '98), Vilnius ('98), St. Petersburg ('99, '00, and '01), and Gladbeck ('02).
In March 1998 SKDC took part in the festival "New Russia - The Human Spirit in Motion" (Copenhagen, Malma, Geteborg).
